Contractual Matters


The contractual environment and supply chain organisation have a significant impact on the quality and sustainability of construction work. The CEETB is committed to strengthening the position of specialist engineering contractors in the construction process. To this end, the CEETB

Promotes the work in integrated project teams by initiating a wide debate with all construction stakeholders at European level;

Promotes the use of life cycle cost schemes in construction and the integration of the LCC approach in the EMAT system (Economically most advantageous tender);

Supports all initiatives towards the greening of public procurement;
Presses European decision makers to avoid complex and costly administrative requirements.

  • The CEETB participates the temporary steering committees of DG Enterprise & Industry relating to studies on life-cycle costs, the impact of EU legislation on the construction industry, the competitiveness of the construction industry etc.
